Bertrand Russell's standard of evidence against interest is being cited to add credibility to Scott McClellan's accusations against the Bush administration, but I wonder if the standard is being applied correctly? In cases of a former official coming out with a memorior of his time in a now unpopular administration, isn't his interest lie in saying negative things about the administration?
